It is time to get hopping!

It is time for the National Scrapbooking Day My Scrapbook Nook blog hop, and here is my little part of it! The nook is offering three prizes - the grand prize winner will receive the entire So Sophie line from MME as well as their other release, Meadowlark. Those are truly gorgeous lines. Two runners up will recieve a Jenni Bowlin kit and a SEI prize package. How about that?

Winners will be drawn on May 3rd. All you need to do is post a comment here and then hop to the next blog be sure to post on all the blogs - one blog will be chosen via random number generator to have three winners chosen from it, also via random number draw. The blog numbers are in the order of the hop.

I just have to share a sneak of the next kit with you. Here's June. It looks fabulous, doesn't it?

You can sign up for a subscription or order a kit on the kit page. Last month's kit, April, featured MME Little Boy Blue, and this is one of the projects I made from that kit.
The current May kit has a lot of "Fly a kite" by October Afternoon in it. It's totally colorful and fun, perfect for all those spring and early summer layouts. Here is one my fellow design team member Amy did. Gorgeous, huh?
So, the next stop on the Blog hop is Amy's blog. But before you go, don't forget to leave a comment on this post for a chance to win those fabulous prizes!!!
Have fun, and keep on hopping! :)

Introducing... THE MAY KIT!

This is what we'll be getting in May from My Scrapbook Nook. I can't wait for this kit to arrive. I just hope it won't bee too late because of that volcano in Iceland messing things up...
Still, I will not complain one bit even if it is late, because what is a late kit when you think about all the people in Iceland who fear for their land and houses, and the safety of their loved ones? Or when you think about all people stranded in different parts of the world who can't get home because of the volcanic ash in the air?

This kit will be a fabulous one, and I will be happy when it arrives, whenever it arrives. :)

Are you cropping this weekend?

The "What's cooking at the Nook" crop is taking place at My Scrapbook Nook as we speak. We have lots of members playing, trying to earn the prestigous title The Nook Chef, which also involves a really great prize.

And I've been busy this week with the April kit, creating this table setting as inpiration for one of my challenges:

This is an inspiration layout for another one of my challenges:
And this is a layout I made for Creative Scrappers this week, because the Nook DT has teamed up with Creative Scrappers this month, and sponsor with one of their fabulous kits. So, if you want to win a Nook kit, hop on over to Creative Scrappers and play along.
Enjoy your saturday, everyone!

There's something about houses...

I can't resist making them! I don't know why, really, it's just something I love doing. Perhaps I'm making it to compensate the disappointment I felt a few years back, when our dream to add an extension to our house didn't come true, because of a contractor who couldn't stick to his word.

I've been building houses for a long time now, periodically, and now I'm doing it again. This time I used the fantastic Crea Diem collection from the Swedish design house Maja Design. I absolutely adore these papers. They are some of the most beautiful papers I ever had the pleasure to work with. You can find them all at Scraplagret.
The house is 3-dimensional and is sticking out quite a bit from the frame.
And here is the cutest stamp I own ♥♥♥, my little whimsical tree from Crafty Individuals, also available from Scraplagret
And while we're at it, I'm going to show you a layout, also with Crea Diem papers from Scraplagret. The owner, Emma, wanted me to do something with the package from a pack of Primas, and I instantly thought of using it as a see-through element in my layout.
Oh, and guess what? Yesterday I finished up my first assignment for Scrap Within Reach. Will try to show you all tomorrow.
And don't forget to come play with us at the VC at My Scrapbook Nook this weekend. There are already a few appetizer challenges up!

Hey good lookin'...

Whatcha got cookin'?

Guess what? This weekend there's a virtual crop going on at My Scrapbook Nook. It's the best place to be if you are ever so slightly hungry, because we are going to cook up some really fancy dishes for you.

And yes, there will be prizes!

Don't miss out. I'll see you there, I hope.

Altered dictionary part 1

I've foud some old dictionaries in thrift shops, antique book stores and I even found a couple of old busted ones at work. You can make all these marvellous flowers and stuff from the papers, but there are so many things you can do with what is left over! I made this garden out of one of my dictionaries and the April kit from My Scrapbook Nook. These papers are so adorable, and perfect for a project like this.

It was actually my dear son who had the idea of an open book and things kind of growing out of it. Like the old Disney film, with a fairy tale landscape coming out of open books. So I decided to give it a try.
I need to have a gate, of course, and the Maya Road pins from the kit make perfect decorations for the gate posts.
They are also perfect to tie one end of a banner to. Because I just had to have a banner here.
And a mailbox.
I have a few more dictionary projects in the making, one of which my dear son is pretty upset about. It's a thing he ordered, and that he wants done like yesterday. Unfortunately, it's way down on my priority list at the moment.
So, have a great weekend, dear blog readers :)

Kitty Makeover

You take one little girl, a bunch of hair clips and a kitty who is too lazy to mind what you do. Then you just let the girl do her thing, and this is what your kitty will look like.
OK, I know our Lisa can most likely put up with anything, but I'm surprised to see her putting up with this somewhat harsh treatment, and not objecting in any way.
And here's the little girl herself, trying to give her nose a makeover. Well, welcome to my world!

Altered Maya Road Dressform album

I would like to have my own corner somewhere for my sewing projects. My scrap room is too small for that, but if I ever were to get a bigger room, I would place this altered dressform in my sewing corner. It's made from a Maya Road Dressform album. I glued all the pages together and dressed it with lovely Pink Paislee Bayberry Cottage papers from the March kit from My Scrapbook Nook.
I decorated with some of the adorable mini chipboards from the kit, and a piece of the ribbon pleat.
A paper measuring tape, and it's done.
Today, I also got the wonderful Nook April kit, and it is just as lovely as it looks in the photos! Let me say it's a great thing that we are having Easter holidays right now, because I'm craving to dive into it.

Just a little card...

...with the cutest stamp I've ever seen! It's from Crafty Individuals, and I got it from Scraplagret. Isn't it adorable? Makes me think of Alice in Wonderland.
And the papers... They are from Swedish design house Maja Design, and I really had to work up some courage to start cutting into them. Most of all, I'd like to keep them and wallpaper my entire house with them, that is how beautiful they are!

I made it!!!

I really, really made it all the way!

I made the Graphic 45 Design Team!

And it's no April fools. It's the real deal.

I have reached so far beyond what I ever imagined I would! This is my third manufacturer team, and my fourth international team. Amazing...
